In this article, we are going to see everything you need to know about sony xperia 1 iv.

We were delighted by the Sony Xperia 1 III’s revolutionary camera system, strong performance, and class-leading audio when we reviewed it in 2021. The Sony Xperia 1 mark IV is now ready, with a few modifications and additions to please Sony lovers.

There are obvious improvements, such as the switch to a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Chipset. but there are also more subtle enhancements, such as the new Music Pro experience and continuous optical zoom from its unique telephoto camera. But before we go into details and specs let’s have a look release date and price.

Sony Xperia 1 IV: Release Date and Price

The Sony Xperia 1 IV is now available for pre-order in the United Kingdom and the rest of Europe, with delivery scheduled for June 16.

That’s a surprise coming from Sony, since the Xperia 1 III was announced months before it went on sale. and lots of the company’s other phones followed a similar pattern. This is definitely a change for the better though – but it’s only a change in Europe, as those in the US won’t get it until September 1.

But in select South-East Asia it will available from Q3 2022. This smartphone will arrive in Black, Purple, and White colours.

As for the price, it will set you back £1,299 / $1,599 (roughly Rs 1,23,500).

Sony Xperia 1 IV: Design

The look of Sony’s flagship Xperia smartphones hasn’t altered all that much in recent years, and the Xperia 1 IV is no exception. We’ve seen long, slender, and narrow gadgets across the board since the shift to the 21:9 aspect ratio.

Flat corners, bezels at the top and bottom of the display, and a clean, pill-shaped vertical camera housing on the back distinguish the Xperia 1 IV from its competition.

The Xperia 1 IV retains the actual fingerprint sensor included in the power button. Although the 3.5mm headphone port is intact, there is no Google Assistant button this time around.

Sony has traditionally offered IP68 water and dust protection on its smartphones. And this is much ahead of the competition. so it’s no surprise to find it on the Xperia 1 IV. This coupled with a glass back and metal frame.

Black, White, and Purple are the available colours.

Sony Xperia 1 IV: Display

The Sony Xperia 1 IV features the same 6.5-inch display as the Xperia 1 III. Despite rumours that an LTPO display was in the works for this gadget, it’s still an OLED panel. It also keeps the same 21:9 aspect ratio as previous Xperia 1 models.

The resolution stays at 4K, which is not surprising. Sony avoided the Quad HD+ trend, instead opting for a 4K resolution on its flagship handsets, therefore the Xperia 1 IV was always expected.

There’s also a 120Hz refresh rate and support for HDR, though the Xperia 1 IV is said to have a 50 per cent brighter display than its predecessor and Real-time HDR drive support.

Sony Xperia 1 IV: Camera and battery

The Sony Xperia 1 mark IV includes a quad-lens camera, with the 12MP telephoto lens likely being the centrepiece, with a seamless zoom range of 85mm to 125mm.

For comparison, the Xperia 1 III could flip between 70mm and 105mm. But just those two zoom levels were supported – nothing in between. But here you can optically zoom to any distance between 70mm and 125mm. That’s a feature you won’t find on any other smartphone.

For what it’s worth, the Xperia 1 IV’s optical zoom range is around 3.5x – 5.2x.

A 12MP 24mm wide lens, a 12MP 16mm ultrawide lens, and a 3D time-of-flight sensor for depth measurement are among the additional cameras.

The front camera of the Sony Xperia 1 IV is 12 megapixels, up from 8 megapixels on the previous. This new camera also has a bigger sensor. Which should help with low-light photography, and it can capture video in up to 4K resolution.

The phone’s rear cameras include a slew of new features and modes, including 4K 120fps slow-motion recording. A broader dynamic range when taking video than before, a Videography Pro mode for live streaming, and more.

As for the battery, that’s a 5,000mAh one. And Sony claims it can charge to 50% in just 30 minutes.

Sony Xperia 1 IV: Specs and features

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor is found in the Sony Xperia 1 IV, as it is in other 2022 top phones. This is a high-end chipset with a lot of power.

Aside from that, Sony has put a lot of effort into the phone’s gaming and audio capabilities. It has a 240Hz touch sampling rate, motion blur reduction, an audio equalisation, and voice chat optimization on the gaming front. Additionally, there are game streaming capabilities such as 120Hz recording, an audio mixer, and a voice changer.

In terms of audio, the Sony Xperia 1 IV features full-stage stereo speakers with Sony Music Entertainment audio tuning, a 3.5mm headphone connection, and hi-res audio.

If you’re more into recording audio then the Sony Xperia 1 mark IV has you covered there too, with a Music Pro app for both recording and mixing audio.
